Gayle Prescott Dance School
PERFORMANCE

Dancers cannot just perform in the Studio.

We give all students the chance to take their Talents onto the Stage.

SHOWS

Every second year the studio holds a major show in which each student participates. From Pre-Primary to the Advanced levels, they all get out there. The dance routines are choreographed for both small and large groups. A Junior level Picture Ballet, Senior Repertoire Ballet, Tap and Jazz items, where many levels come together to perform, are all on show. The students enjoy the opportunity to get on stage, dressed in wonderful costumes, and perform for their parents, family and friends.

The last major production was in June 2009. This was 2009 Dance Revue, the Centennial Theatre, Auckland Boys Grammar in June 2009.

Our Students are also invited to perform at charity and community functions e.g. Celebration of Childrens Day and The Farmers Santa Parade (see below)

COMPETITIONS

Another way for the young dancers to perform on the stage, is to participate in competitions. There are many competitions held in Auckland and around the country throughout the school year. This offers the chance to travel, meet new people as well as appreciate and learn from the styles of others. Competitions can be great fun and give children confidence, teach patience and learn understanding of others.
